Who we are

Breckland Pest Control provides pest control services across Swaffham, Dereham, Thetford, Downham Market and the surrounding areas of Norfolk. For the purposes of UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018), Breckland Pest Control is the controller of the personal information described in this policy.

What information we collect

We collect personal information when you contact us or use our services:

• Enquiries — your name, phone number, email address and details of the pest problem, when you call or email us.
• Providing our services — your property address, access details you give us, and details of the work carried out.
• Reports and certificates — visit reports and cleaning certificates we issue include the site address or postcode, a contact name and the email address they are sent to.

This website does not have login areas or forms for the public, and we do not collect any information from you simply for browsing it.

How we use it, and our lawful basis

• Responding to enquiries and providing quotes — legitimate interests / steps taken at your request before entering a contract.
• Carrying out work and sending you reports or certificates — performance of our contract with you.
• Keeping treatment records, including pesticides used — legal obligation and legitimate interests: professional pesticide application records must be kept under UK regulations.
• Invoicing and accounts — legal obligation.

We do not use your information for marketing, we do not send newsletters, and we never sell your information.

Who we share it with

Your information is only shared with the service providers we use to run the business — website and database hosting, and the email service that delivers reports and certificates — and with our sister companies (Direct Group Yorkshire Ltd and Peak Forest Pest Control), whose team operate the same systems. We do not share your information with anyone else unless the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Enquiry details are kept only as long as needed to deal with your enquiry. Records of treatments, reports and certificates are kept as business records — pesticide application records are kept for at least three years, as UK regulations require.

Cookies

This website does not set cookies and does not use analytics or advertising trackers, so you will not see a cookie banner here. The pages load fonts from Google Fonts, which means Google receives your IP address when the font files are requested; no cookies are set by this.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable format.

To use any of these rights, or to complain about how we have handled your information, email us at info@dgyl.co.uk. We will acknowledge complaints within 30 days and respond without undue delay.
